11: I love Coldplay, Bombay Bicycle Club, Foster The People, Two Door Cinema Club and Lana Del Rey.

Laurens questions:

1. What is your favourite shop (clothes, shoes, make-up and gifty bits)?
Olivia: This is so hard, i have a number of favourite clothing shops such as, Topshop, River island, Urban outfitters, ASOS, American Appeal. They are all so expensive but they have to be my favourite, i can't choose one. :-(. For make-up and gifts it has to be the good old Boots or superdrug
Sophie: Ooh, it's gotta be Urban Outfitters and Topshop, although I can hardly afford anything! I don't wear much make-up and I'm not really interested in it, but Boots or Superdrug for the necessities. And Boots have Soap and Glory, so that's a huge benefit!

2. What is your favourite perfume/scent?
Olivia: This is easy, Daisy by Marc Jacobs for perfume and scent but I love the Soap and Glory body spray.
Sophie: Again, I'm not really fussed. However, my Dad bought me Jimmy Choo a while ago and I love that. I love the Soap and Glory body spray too.

3. Would you like to go to university? If so what would you like to study?

Olivia: At the moment i'm not entirely sure, I want to see how college goes. If I was to go there I would either study drama/ acting or Graphics. However I might choose to do to an acting academy instead, I just don't know.
Sophie: I'm not really sure if university is for me to be honest. I have no idea what I'd like to study either.

4. What is your dream job?

Olivia: This is hard as I just want to be happy with whatever I do. It would have to be a graphics designer or journalist. My cousin is a journalist and she has inspired me so much, that anything is possible. Even though I would love to be an actress, it's just so hard to get into.
Sophie: My dream would be to act. But that's just a dream I suppose. Or writing for Company Magazine would be pretty amazing.

5. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and what would you do?
Olivia: L.A or Australia. I would just have the time of my life. I would stay at the nicest place and go to the beach ever day and visit around as much as I could. I would just go wild and feel so free, I can't wait to hopefullt for fill this dream some day.
Sophie: Definitely America, but also Australia. My parents met whilst travelling in Australia and they always say it was the most amazing adventure. I'd imitate the Australian and American accents whilst having the time of my life!
6. Why did you start a blog?
Olivia: Well me and Sophie were talking one day about blogs and thought how cool it would be to run one ourselves. Ta dah, magically we decided to create one, it's been perfect every since. It is also a great place to begin I think, for example Zoella, I mean look at her now, she's living her dream.
Sophie: I think we were in the cinema waiting for The Perks Of Being A Wallflower to begin when we randomly started discussing creating a blog together. I've always loved to write. And I've read blogs ever since I was 12, so I just wanted to have a go at writing one myself.
7. Would you ever make YouTube videos?
Olivia: Yes! I would absolutely love to. I don't want to start all of that yet as i am more focused on my education at the moment but later on in life I am hoping to, just imagine being part of the YouTube community and getting paid to make videos you love and spending time with the most amazing people.
Sophie: Yeah, I think it would be amazing. I'm not sure what I'd film, but I think it would be a fantastic experience!

8. What is your favourite film?

Olivia: This is literally impossible. My all time favourite has to be Mean Girls, I mean it's just perfect. However my favourite movie at the moment is friends with benefits, it's honestly the best. Love you Mila, haha.
Sophie: I can't pick one! I love 'We Bought A Zoo' because of the stunning cinematography and the wonderful story line  but then again I love Tangled, This Means War, Crazy, Stupid, Love and the whole Bourne series (although, the latest Bourne film was pretty disappointing  I mean you can't make a successful Bourne film without Matt Damon!)
9. Who is your favourite singer/band?
Olivia: My favourite singer is Frank Hamilton, he's just amazing, all of his songs are so relatable. I then love The Weekend, I love their music. Two door cinema club have to be my favourite band though. I love so many more singers and bands though, this is only a snippet, hehe.
Sophie: This is so easy for me. Band - Coldplay. If you don't like Coldplay, then I'm sorry there's something wrong with you. Every song is perfect. And singer - Lana Del Rey. She's a lyrical genius. I could listen to her all day.

10. Is there anything you wish you could change about yourself?

Olivia: Just to be happy about everything. It's easier said then done but I worry too much, it really, really bugs me. To be honest I wouldn't change anything else as no one's perfect and I love everything i have.
Sophie: My ability to worry about anything and everything.

11. What is your biggest achievement?

Olivia: This is hard, I mean getting A's in school for an exam feels amazing but also getting into a production at a theatre just felt incredible. One of my biggest achievements has to be staying strong for my family, like my nanna and grandad, honestly this was the hardest time and when they did pass I felt like I had achieved so much with them.
Sophie: I honestly have no idea what my biggest achievement is. I'm sorry, but that's quite personal for me.

Our questions:
1. What's your favourite song?
2. What's your biggest fear?
3. Why did you start your blog?
4. If you could be any person for one day, who would you be?
5. Summer or winter?
6. What's your favourite shop?
7. What's one makeup item you couldn't live without?
8. If you could listen to one genre of music for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
9. How many countries have you been to?
10. If your friends or family described you in 3 words, what would they say?
11. What age would you go and relive and why?

Current Music Obsessions

I decided to do a post about the music that I'm currently obsessed with because I just read Lauren's blog post here about her monthly music favourites which has inspired me to do one. Truthfully, I've wanted to do a music post for a while now, but I'm never really sure what to write about the songs I like because I usually end up saying something like "I like this song because it's good/amazing/great". So I've tried to expand on these lame sentences and produce something a lot more detailed and interesting for you to read.

Ben Howard - Call Me Maybe

I first heard this cover about half an hour ago after reading a tweet about how amazing it was. I can't believe I've only just heard it! I never believed it would be possible for me to like this song - let alone become obsessed over it within half an hour - but Ben Howard is a talented man and definitely makes this song work. The best bit by far is from 03:03 - 03:43. The tempo increases, as does the volume, power and emotion...I could listen to those 40 seconds again and again and again!

Theme Park - Two Hours (Crossey Mix)

We all need that song to motivate and cheer us up every now and then, and for me, this song is it. To be honest, it just makes me want to stand up and dance to it! The tune is happy, catchy and fun. Who wouldn't want to listen to it?! I would just like to thank Spotify for letting me discover this wonderful song.

Angus and Julia Stone - Draw Your Swords

Now for something a little more slow and touching. This song is honestly so powerful. I love how Angus not only sings the lyrics, but feels the lyrics too. He pours his heart and soul into his singing and it literally gives me goosebumps. This song is haunting, spine tingling and brutally beautiful. I mean, the lyrics are just out of this world. It's very rare that you can find a song that captivates your entire attention for more than 6 minutes, but this one does it for me...every single time.

Imagine Dragons - Round and Round

I love Imagine Dragons. They're another band that produce positive beats and tunes that I obsess over. The meaning of the song is brilliant and the lyrics have an awesome moral to them. "You don't have to make it right, Just hold your head up high". How awesome is that message? Great song.

Lana Del Ray - National Anthem

Lana Del Ray is a lyrical genius, agreed? My sister gave me the 'Born To Die - The Paradise Edition' for Christmas and I can't stop listening to it! I couldn't decide which song of hers to post on here, but National Anthem is the song that first got me into Lana so I thought this only made sense to talk about it. I think this song has such an amazing meaning to it about modern day society and money being 'the anthem of success'. It's a controversial subject, but I recommend you to read other people's beliefs about the songs meaning here if you're interested and/or want further details.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know if you liked it and would like to see more music posts sometime!

New Blog

Hey guys, well it's 2013, HAPPY NEW YEAR! As Sophie did a post about a fresh start and new years resolutions we thought of changing our blog. It's nothing major but as we have been inspired by other gorgeous blogs that we wanted to make a change. The whole meaning behind '12 tea-cups' is basically our 2 names added together.
 Sophie-6 letters
Olivia-6 letters
12 tea-cups.
We were originally known as 'Falling-Acorns' but that wasn't really reflecting us or our personalities. Now it is a bit more personal. The idea of tea-cups came about after spending ages on Facebook chat sending random words to each other until we came up it haha. We then thought about beautiful illustrations we could include on our blog, this brings me onto the image in our banner and our 'grab' image/link, this is an illustration by Mariya Paskovsky - "Tea Cup illustration2".

Furthermore we wanted to tell you a little bit about what is going to be included in our blog this year.
  • Music of the month. This will basically be our favourite tunes and why we like them :-)
  • Fashion
    • Wishlists
    • Purchases
    • Reviews
  • Make-up. We are both inspired by makeup and i will be doing a lot more makeup looks, tutorials, reviews, hauls as i get inspired so much by the YouTubers like Zoella and Tanya Burr, but i have no guts to create an account at the moment.
  • DIY. I guess when you think of DIY you think doing up your house, well yes it can be that but it can also be little things like making little vintage things etc, this will be fun :-)
  • Favourites of the month. This will include anything that we loved in the month including clothes, make-up and books, etc.
  • Photography. Get ready for a lot more personal photos this year. We both love  absolutely love photography, as i am currently taking it for a GCSE and we both want to take is for AS we think it would be a fantastic idea to start incorporating this into our blog.
  • I also like the idea of including some of our Instagram pictures. This is where you basically post some of your Instagram pictures that you have taken over a period of time, kind o like a collage i suppose. I read this off of Lauren's blog which is here be sure to check her out and follow, please :-)

Happy thoughts + memories from 2013

Hello, it's me again! First of all I'd just like to apologise for the terrible photo quality. I was taking these photos whilst it was getting dark so the camera was being difficult.

This afternoon I finally created my 'happy thoughts and memories from 2013' jar. Better late than never, right? I know Olivia already posted about making her jar here and even did a tutorial showing you how she made it, but I'm not going to go into so much detail. I basically used the Kempton Rose paper from Cath Kidston which I talked about here and on the red side of the paper cut around the flowers to make a zig-zag shape in a line and stuck them on. I did the same on the top of the jar but cut the paper into a more circular shape. I then designed the writing on Picmonkey and printed that out and stuck it on a rectangular shape of the blue floral side of paper. Lastly I wrapped a red ribbon around the top.

I think this is such a brilliant idea. I think at the end of 2013 it will make me a lot happier when reflecting on the year and will make me realise how much fun I actually had. I don't keep a diary, so this is a perfect way of remembering the good times in the last year without having to write a lot down.

Shopping Purchases

Happy New Year! I'm a little bit late, but oh well. So I went shopping today and finally bought some items. I've been shopping a couple of times since the after Christmas sales have started, but haven't been able to find anything worth buying, but today I was in a good mood and found some great things.

I went into Cath Kidston and immediately found this gorgeous paper. I'm a huge fan of their Kempton Rose range and I also wanted to find some gorgeous paper to decorate my jar like Olivia blogged about here. It's also double sided, but with a blue version of the red pattern which is lovely. I found a set of Cath Kidston postcards with some of my favourite patterns on which I knew would be perfect for writing thank you letters to my family for my Christmas presents. I also bought some Kempton Rose gift tags for wrapping up future birthday presents.

The first thing I bought was this gorgeous skirt from Primark. I don't usually wear skirts, but recently I've been admiring them a lot and wanted to buy one. I'm really excited to wear this skirt with tights and boots in the coming weeks. It has a really unique pattern that I love.

I've been debating recently over whether I should get this grey dress or the purple one but today I decided on this one. I tried it on in the changing rooms and it looked really good with my black tights and boots. I did hesitate with this dress because I thought it was too dark and a little bit hard to style, but it looks great with dark tights. I plan to accommodate this dress into my spring and summer wardrobe with a white wash denim waist coat and a brown bag, but for now my leather jacket will do.

Let me know what you think of my purchases and what you reckon I could style them with. I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks for reading!
